Robin Van Persie admits that Liverpool were the better side in Arsenal's 2-1 win at Anfield on Saturday.

Robin Van Persie has admitted that he thinks Liverpool were the better side in Arsenal's 2-1 win at Anfield on Saturday.

Van Persie scored his 24th and 25th league goals of the season to help his side defeat the Reds, and the Dutch striker is in no doubt as to the significance of the result, but conceded that they probably didn't deserve all three points.

"To score at Anfield is big, because Anfield is a massive ground," said Van Persie.

"I'm proud of that, but even more proud of this win. I don't think we really deserved it, to be honest, because Liverpool played better.

"I think we are 10 points ahead of Liverpool now and we can wait to see what Spurs do tomorrow. It's a big win, a massive win."

The result, Liverpool's first home defeat of the season, leaves Kenny Dalglish's men 7th in the Premier League, four points behind sixth place Newcastle United.
