Robbie Savage: 'Arsenal cannot bottle title challenge'

Former Wales international Robbie Savage says that Arsene Wenger would have "nowhere to hide" if his team "bottle another title challenge" this season.

Former Wales international Robbie Savage has claimed that Arsene Wenger would "run out of excuses" if he failed to lead Arsenal to the Premier League title this season.

On Sunday afternoon, the top four will all meet as third-placed Arsenal welcome leaders Leicester City, before second-placed Tottenham Hotspur travel to fourth-placed Manchester City.

Savage has said that Arsenal cannot afford to "bottle another title challenge" and thinks that Leicester will go on to win the title if they can collect all three points at the Emirates.

"Arsene Wenger will run out of excuses, and have nowhere to hide, if Arsenal bottle another title challenge. If Leicester win Sunday's high-noon title shootout at the Emirates, they will be eight points clear at the top - and I think they will go on to win the Premier League," Savage wrote in his column for The Mirror.

"This is it. This is the biggest game in the history of Leicester City. They have already won at Tottenham and Manchester City, their other nearest challengers, and a win at Arsenal would turn the unthinkable into the absolutely sensational.

"But while the Foxes being champions would be the most remarkable football story of my lifetime, it would leave a cast of big-spending managers hanging their heads in shame... if [Arsenal] blow it again, you wonder if Wenger will ever win another league title."

Leicester, who have only lost twice in the league this season, are currently five points clear of second-placed Spurs in the Premier League table, while Arsenal are behind their London rivals on goal difference.
