Alexis Sanchez switches squad number to 7 as Arsenal unveil new kit

Alexis Sanchez switches his squad number from 17 to 7 as Arsenal unveil their kit for the 2016-17 season.

Arsenal have confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will play in the No.7 shirt next season after unveiling the team's new kit for the 2016-17 campaign.

The Chile international has worn the 17 shirt since his arrival at the Emirates from Barcelona in 2014, but following the departure of Tomas Rosicky, the 27-year-old has snapped up his ex-teammate's squad number.

The new kit, manufactured by Puma, retains Arsenal's classic red and white colours, but the home shirt includes a new vertical stripe down the front and 'A' stitched on the back, while the white shorts have a red band down the side.

When asked for his thoughts on the new kit, Hector Bellerin told the club's official website: "We are really pleased with the way it looks. I think the fans are really going to like it. It's a bit of a throwback as well. I like the design with the line in the centre, it's something different. I've seen the players modelling it and I think it's going to look really good."

Arsenal finished the 2015-16 Premier League campaign in second place, 10 points adrift of champions Leicester City.
