Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers: "The best team won"

Brendan Rodgers admits that Liverpool were inferior to Arsenal in their Premier League encounter on Saturday.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that his side did not deserve to win against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Gunners won the Premier League encounter between the two teams 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey.

"The best team won," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "They had a greater control of the game but we were still a threat. Their mobility and passing was better than ours.

"We never pressed the ball well enough but we kept going all night. After 10 games you can analyse the league, my players have been brilliant and we will be in with a shout.

"We have shown enough that we have a fighting chance of a place in the top four."

Liverpool are currently third in the league table with 20 points from 10 matches.
