Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has revealed why he chose the club ahead of other options.
The 24-year-old made the move to St James' Park during the January transfer window alongside several other new signings that Eddie Howe made in order to boost the squad.
However, the Brazilian international did have other options at the time, with interest taking place from Arsenal, but he ultimately made the decision to join the Magpies.
"I did speak to some other clubs. But the only concrete offer came in from Newcastle and I really wanted to come here," he revealed to Sky Sports News.
"I have always wanted to play in the Premier League and on top of that it was the start of a new sporting project for the club."
Guimaraes scored his first goal for the club in midweek, helping Newcastle secure a 2-1 victory over Southampton, extending their unbeaten record to nine games in the top flight.
