William Gallas suffers a fresh a calf injury to rule him out of the Shamrock Rovers and Arsenal matches this week.

Tottenham Hotspur defender William Gallas has “no chance” of featuring in the club’s Europa League and Premier League clashes against Shamrock Rovers and bitter rivals Arsenal this week, according to manager Harry Redknapp.

The 34-year-old, who has been plagued with injury this season, had an outside chance of playing for Spurs in the side’s game against the Irish outfit tonight after coming through a full 90 minutes in a friendly against Brentford last week.

Since then the defender has suffered a fresh calf strain and will remain sidelined for the next few matches.

"William was looking okay to return but, just when we thought he was over his initial calf injury, he has pulled a calf muscle in the other leg," Redknapp told The Sun.

"He won't face Shamrock and has virtually no chance of playing Arsenal. It's a shame because he turned in a man-of-the-match performance against Arsenal last season."

Tottenham host Arsenal for the London derby at White Hart Lane this Sunday.
