Martin Odegaard is reportedly set to return for Arsenal in their upcoming Premier League encounter against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium this weekend.

Martin Odegaard is reportedly set to return for Arsenal in their upcoming Premier League encounter against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium this weekend.

The club captain has been absent for the past three matches due to injury and also had to forego international duty with Norway to focus on his recovery.

Odegaard's last appearance for The Gunners was as a substitute in the EFL Cup, where they suffered a 3-1 defeat against West Ham United.

According to a report by The Standard, the Norwegian international has now received clearance to resume playing, having been sidelined for Arsenal's previous three games due to concussion protocols after being hit in the face by a ball during training.

The report adds that the 24-year-old has also been undergoing management for a hip issue, and it was determined that the best course of action would be for him to remain at Arsenal and work on his recovery with the players who were not called up by their countries.

After being granted the weekend off by manager Mikel Arteta, Odegaard took time off to visit his family and meet with his international teammates in Norway before returning to Arsenal to intensify his recovery efforts this week ahead of their clash with The Bees.

Arsenal may also see the return of Gabriel Jesus this week, with the Brazilian striker back in full training with his national team and in contention to feature in their World Cup qualifier against Argentina.

Jesus has been absent from Arsenal's lineup since October 24, when he sustained a hamstring injury during a 2-1 victory against Sevilla in the Champions League.
