How Arsenal could line up against Southampton

Ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash between Southampton and Arsenal, Sports Mole looks at how Unai Emery's side could line up at St Mary's.

Arsenal head into Sunday's encounter with Southampton having put together a 14-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

Unai Emery's side still sit outside of the top four in the standings, but the Gunners have not suffered defeat at English football's top tier since the second weekend of the campaign.

However, Arsenal were made to fight for all three points against Huddersfield Town last weekend, with Lucas Torreira's late strike proving to be the difference between the sides.

Emery has a number of selection dilemmas ahead of this contest, and here Sports Mole looks at how his team could line up on the south coast.

Out: Shkodran Mustafi (suspended), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (suspended), Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Rob Holding (knee), Danny Welbeck (ankle)

Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos will both miss this weekend's fixture having picked up their fifth domestic yellow cards of the season against Huddersfield.

The absence of the duo could lead to Emery using Laurent Koscielny for the second time in three days, with the Frenchman making his first senior outing in seven months against Qarabag on Thursday night.

Nacho Monreal and Stephan Lichtsteiner are also available for the Gunners, but a lack of options is likely to force Emery into using a back four for the visit to St Mary's.

Aaron Ramsey could return to the starting lineup after missing the last two games, and that could result in Mesut Ozil dropping back down to the substitutes' bench.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are both likely starters, with Emery left to choose between Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
