Wojciech Szczesny offers Adam Federici support

Wojciech Szczesny offers his support to Reading's Adam Federici following the Australian's mistake during Arsenal's FA Cup semi-final win.

Wojciech Szczesny has offered his support to Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici following Arsenal's FA Cup semi-final win over the Royals.

Federici allowed Alexis Sanchez's shot to squirm past him in extra time as the Gunners earned a narrow 2-1 victory at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Despite being at fault for the game's decisive moment, Szczesny believes that Federici should be proud of his display.

"He can be very proud," the Pole told Arsenal's official website. "It only went to extra time because the goalkeeper was magnificent. We're very happy to go through but personally I do feel for the goalkeeper.

"It's a difficult moment for him. He was the best player on the pitch and in his dreams last night he was probably hoping he would get them through to the final. He did everything to do so but got very unlucky in extra time.

"It was a really good performance from him and he's shown what a good keeper he is."

Arsenal are back in action on April 26 when they host Chelsea in the Premier League.
