Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 'Theo Walcott can fire England to Euro 2016'

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that Theo Walcott can score the goals to help England qualify for Euro 2016.

Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has suggested that Theo Walcott can score the goals to help take England to Euro 2016.

The winger has made it clear that he would like to be used as a striker for the Gunners, and he has been included in Roy Hodgson's current England squad for the qualifiers with San Marino and Switzerland as one of four frontmen.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has said that he has faith in his teammate's ability to play a more advanced role for club and country.

"I think Theo has been ready for a number of years to play there. He's someone I look up to and admire as a person and a player," he told the Daily Mail.

"His form for club and country in his long career proves why he's is ready, his goalscoring record proves why he is ready to play up front.

"He is a great player and poses different threats than other strikers with his ability to run in behind. I have no doubt Theo can play up front - or in midfield as well."

Walcott has scored five goals in 40 appearances for England.
