Jurgen Klopp: 'Arsenal deserved victory'

Jurgen Klopp says that Arsenal fully deserved their 2-0 Champions League win over his lacklustre Borussia Dortmund side.

Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has conceded that Arsenal fully deserved their 2-0 Champions League victory at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

Goals in both halves from Yaya Sanogo and Alexis Sanchez saw the Gunners beat the Group D leaders to qualify for the last 16 of the competition.

Sanogo struck just two minutes after kickoff, and Klopp says that his troops gave themselves a mountain to climb too early on.

"It was the worst possible start to concede such a quick goal," he told reporters.

"There were situations and moments when we did what we wanted but those periods were very short.

"Too many times we were not that great and Arsenal were the deserved winner tonight. We just weren't good enough."

Dortmund host Galatasaray - who are guaranteed to finish bottom - in Germany next month knowing that a point would be enough for them to win the group.
