Neal Ardley unsure over future as AFC Wimbledon boss

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley insists that he is "delighted" to be in charge, but hints that he could step aside should he fail to "bring excitement" this season.

Neal Ardley has suggested that he could step aside as AFC Wimbledon manager should results not improve.

The 43-year-old took over the Dons three years ago and saw his side's Football League status sealed on a dramatic final day.

Since then Ardley - who had never previously managed at senior level - has guided Wimbledon to 20th and 15th, which he admits is not good enough in terms of progress.

Asked about his future at Kingsmeadow, he is quoted by Get West London as saying: "I'm a massive fan and I have a lot of history with this club. I'm delighted I'm here. But by the end of the season I need to bring excitement to the other end of the table.

"The league position tells you we haven't made progress. But we've got a better team; a better infrastructure; but if I haven't brought success I probably haven't done well enough."

Wimbledon are currently 14th in the League Two table, sitting four points off the playoffs.
