Mario Balotelli will remain with the Italy squad over the weekend despite health concerns for the AC Milan striker.
The 23-year-old was not in the stands for Friday's 2-2 draw with Denmark after suffering with gastroenteritis, but he will stay with his national team ahead of Tuesday's World Cup qualifier with Armenia.
"The player will stay with us. It's impossible right now to say what his chances are of playing on Tuesday," team doctor Enrico Castellacci told reporters at a press conference.
"It is encouraging that he returned to training after five days out, but he is debilitated by gastroenteritis. We will evaluate his condition day by day."
Balotelli has scored 11 goals in 26 games for Italy.
