Adriano Galliani: 'Stephan El Shaarawy not leaving AC Milan'

AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy is not leaving the club, according to vice-president Adriano Galliani.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has insisted that Stephan El Shaarawy will not be leaving the club in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move away from the San Siro, with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

"El Shaarawy is staying," Galliani told reporters. "A well-known coach from abroad rang me up to ask for him and I politely said no.

"Last season El Shaarawy kept us upright until Mario Balotelli arrived. Unfortunately we haven't really had El Shaarawy or Mattia De Sciglio this season."

Milan are currently 13th in Serie A.
