Sunday's Serie A predictions including Monza vs. AC Milan

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Serie A fixtures, including Monza vs. AC Milan.

Lazio vs. Bologna (Sunday, 11.30am)

Buoyed by a fine midweek win in Europe, Lazio return to domestic duty on Sunday, when they welcome high-flying Bologna to Stadio Olimpico.

While the Biancocelesti beat Bayern Munich last time out, Bologna also won on Wednesday and sit two points clear of their hosts in the Serie A standings.

We say: Lazio 1-1 Bologna

Mental fatigue may be a factor for Lazio, given their mighty efforts in midweek, and they may have to settle for a point against able opposition. Bologna are rarely able to produce wins away from home but have re-found their rhythm and can cause the hosts plenty of problems.

Empoli vs. Fiorentina (Sunday, 2.00pm)

With just one win in 2024, Fiorentina are desperately seeking success in Sunday's Derby dell'Arno, when they visit in-form Empoli at Stadio Carlo Castellani.

The hosts will be aiming to do a Serie A double over their Tuscan rivals for the very first time and drag themselves further away from danger.

We say: Empoli 1-1 Fiorentina

Despite trailing their regional rivals by 16 points before kickoff, momentum will certainly be on Empoli's side this weekend. They may lack a clinical centre-forward, but Fiorentina still find a way to score most weeks so could still walk away with one point.

Udinese vs. Cagliari (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Udinese will be aiming to back up their impressive win away to Juventus last time out when they host Cagliari in Serie A on Sunday.

The visitors, on the other hand, have lost four league games in a row, falling to second bottom in the table as a result.

We say: Udinese 1-1 Cagliari

Although Udinese will be riding high after their win against Juventus, Cioffi's side tend to find it much tougher when expected to break their opponents down. Cagliari, as would be expected under the management of Ranieri, will likely arrive with a defensive gameplan.

As a result, we can envisage a game which will mostly be low on quality, with both teams desperate to avoid relegation this season. We predict a draw.

Frosinone vs. Roma (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Roma continue their pursuit of a top-four finish on Sunday, as they take the short trip to Stadio Benito Stirpe, where free-falling Frosinone lie in wait.

After a commendable draw at De Kuip in midweek, the Giallorossi now tackle their neighbours, who have recently drifted down the Serie A standings.

We say: Frosinone 1-2 Roma

Roma may not have things all their own way - Frosinone are tough to beat on home turf and have scored half of their Serie A goals via set-pieces - but the visitors should still have the guile to prevail at Stadio Stirpe. A fresh approach under new management has certainly raised hopes of improving the Giallorossi's dismal away record.

Monza vs. AC Milan (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Following five wins from six in all competitions, AC Milan will aim to keep the pressure on Serie A's top two as they visit nearby Monza on Sunday.

Yet to pick up a point against their illustrious neighbours since reaching Italy's top flight, the hosts sit safely in mid-table; meanwhile, Milan are well clear in third.

We say: Monza 0-1 AC Milan

While Milan are free-scoring, Monza have found the net just twice in four matches. Though Thursday's efforts will have sapped some of the Rossoneri's energy, they should still have enough gas in the tank to race past their Lombardy rivals.
