Former AC Milan great Ruud Gullit has admitted that he was "very surprised" to see Clarence Seedorf take over as the club's new coach.
The Dutchman recently announced his decision to retire from Brazilian club Botafogo to take over at San Siro, and Gullit said that the appointment was something of an odd one given his compatriot's lack of experience in management.
"I am very surprised at the choice made by the club," he told RTL 4.
"Clarence has no experience as a coach. Despite this however, I think it will prove to be a good choice in the near future."
Milan are currently 11th in Serie A.
