Massimiliano Allegri happy with "solid" AC Milan

Massimiliano Allegri declares himself happy with AC Milan's performance against Udinese but wants improvement before Tuesday's Champions League clash with Barcelona.

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has said that his team will need to improve from tonight's 1-0 win over Udinese if they want to get a good result against Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek.

Valter Birsa scored the only goal of the game as the Rossoneri registered their third victory of the Serie A season.

Allegri said that he was pleased with how his side defended but knows that they will have to step up their game when the Spanish champions visit the San Siro on Tuesday.

"We played well in the first half and wasted a few too many counter attacks, but then we created more chances after the break and it was a deserved victory," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"We did well to remain solid and tight. When our team is so compact, it becomes difficult for opponents to break through.

"The important thing was to win tonight. We'll need a perfect performance on Tuesday to get a result."

Milan are second in Group H thanks to a victory over Celtic and a late draw against Ajax in Amsterdam.
