Jayden Stockley: Clash with Kieran Tierney "not intentional"

Jayden Stockley attempts to protest his innocence after catching Kieran Tierney with his elbow during Saturday's Scottish Cup final meeting between Aberdeen and Celtic.

Aberdeen forward Jayden Stockley has claimed that he did not intend to hurt Kieran Tierney after leaving the Celtic star with a nasty mouth injury.

The 23-year-old caught Tierney with a stray elbow during the Dons' 2-1 Scottish Cup final defeat at Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon, leaving his opponent in need of medical attention.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers revealed after the match that Tierney may now require surgery due to the severity of the damage, but Stockley has protested his innocence over the clash.

"Support was unbelievable yesterday," he posted on Twitter. "Thank you to all our incredible fans for the season, and no, it wasn't intentional in the slightest!"

Stockley was also sent off against Rangers earlier this month after twice catching players with his arm.
