Team GB's Aliya Itzkowitz loses in round of 32

Poland's Martyna Watora comes from five points down to eliminate Team GB's Aliya Itzkowitz in the round of 32 in the women's individual sabre at the European Games.

Team GB fencer Aliya Itzkowitz has missed out on a place in the round of 16 in the women's individual sabre at the European Games in Baku, suffering a narrow defeat to Martyna Watora.

The 21-year-old, who won three of her four group contests to reach the knockout stage, led midway through the meeting, opening up an 8-3 lead in the opening period.

However, her opponent turned it around in the second, landing four unanswered points before connecting with a couple of late shots to secure the victory.

Watora faces compatriot Angelika Wator in the round of 16 later today.
