Great Britain have won the team foil gold after beating Italy 45-41 in the final.

Victories from Richard Kruse and Alex Tofalides saw Britain take a 10-4 lead after two matches, but Tofalides was then beaten by Lorenzo Nista and Francesco Ingargiola as Italy took a 35-33 lead with two matches remaining.

Marcus Mepstead beat Nista 7-3 in game eight, and Kruse completed the victory with a 5-3 win over Alessio Foconi.

Timur Arslanov won all three of his matches in the bronze-medal match to help Russia to a 45-33 victory over France.
