Zara Phillips has taken the blame for her equestrian team not winning Team GB's first gold medal of London 2012 yesterday.
She, along with Mary King, Nicola Roberts, Tina Cook and William Fox-Pitt, had to settle for silver after Phillips's horse dropped the second fence, leading to a further penalty for finishing outside of the time limit.
"I messed up at the start but I told myself I had to get on with it," said the Queen's granddaughter.
"I'm really proud of the way my horse went. But I'm disappointed for the team and I hope I haven't let them down."
Germany claimed gold in the event, while New Zealand took bronze.
