Joe Biden beat Donald Trump in their head-to-head town hall events last night, according to early ratings data.
The presidential rivals were originally due to come up against each other in their second TV debate last night but the event was cancelled after Trump tested positive for coronavirus earlier this month.
As a result, each held town hall events that were broadcast at the same time on rival networks, with Biden taking questions on ABC and the President being grilled in an open-air setting on NBC.
Provisional figures show that Biden's broadcast was seen by 13.9 million viewers, while 13.1 million opted for the Trump event - a total that also includes simulcasts on MSNBC and CNBC.
Biden and Trump will take part in a second and final head-to-head debate next Thursday, October 22 ahead of polling day on November 3.
