Watch: Demi Lovato premieres Donald Trump diss track Commander In Chief

Demi Lovato has debuted a powerful new song taking aim at Donald Trump ahead of next month's US election.

The gospel ballad criticises the President for his handling of the coronavirus crisis, the racial divisions in the country and for the spread of false information.

"Do you get off on pain? We're not pawns in your game," she sings in the track. "Commander in Chief, honestly - if I did the things you do, I couldn't sleep.

"Seriously, do you even know the truth? We're in a state of crisis, people are dying, while you line your pockets deep."

Lovato gave a first performance of 'Commander In Chief' at last night's Billboard Music Awards and used the opportunity to encourage the US public to vote on November 3.

"We are heading into the most important election of our lives," she wrote on Instagram. "This song isn't about division. This is about finding answers from our sitting President. So please, debate and talk about voting. That's what this is all about."
