Joe Exotic: 'I was too gay to get a pardon from Donald Trump'

Joe Exotic hits out at Donald Trump's decision not to grant him a Presidential pardon before leaving the White House.

Joe Exotic has slammed Donald Trump for not freeing him from jail before his time in the White House expired.

The outgoing President gave pardons to dozens of people, including the rapper Lil Wayne, before Joe Biden replaced him as commander-in-chief this afternoon.

On Tuesday, the Tiger King star's legal team said that they were confident that Exotic was on the verge of release and even had a 14ft limousine waiting for him outside of his Texas jail.

The 57-year-old was not on Trump's list of pardons, however, and in a new social media post he has suggested that homophobia may have played a part in the decision.

"I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a Pardon from Trump," he wrote.

"I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post.

"Boy were we all stupid to believe he actually stood for Equal Justice? His corrupt friends all come first."

Exotic is pressing ahead with his bid freedom regardless and an appeal of his conviction is due to be heard later today.
