BBC announces Drag Race UK spinoff God Shave The Queens

The BBC announces God Shave The Queens, an eight-part docuseries following the queens from Drag Race UK series one.

The BBC has confirmed new docuseries God Shave The Queens featuring the cast of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

The show was filmed immediately after the series aired last year and follows the series one queens - including The Vivienne, Baga Chipz, Davina De Campo and Cheryl Hole - as they embark upon a six-date tour of the UK with drag icon Alyssa Edwards.

"I'm so delighted to send my first court of British queens out to the four corners of the realm," said RuPaul, "spreading their message of light, love and laughter, and sharing their sweet sensitive souls with the people."

BBC Three controller Fiona Campbell said: "This series is a peek under the wigs to see what happens after the Drag Race curtain comes down.

"Our British Queens have gone down in RuPaul 'herstory' and this series is a reminder of why we loved them so much in series one and shows us what it takes to be at the top of the game."

All eight episodes will be made available as a boxset on iPlayer in early November, while the second series of Drag Race UK is expected in early 2021.
