Timothee Chalamet, Armie Hammer sign up for 'Call Me By Your Name' sequel

Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer are reportedly on board for the highly-anticipated Call Me By Your Name sequel.

Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino has confirmed that both Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer have signed up for the sequel to the cult movie.

The 2017 adaptation of the Andre Aciman novel saw Chalamet star as a teenage boy in 1980s Italy who begins a whirlwind romance with a 20-something American exchange student, played by Hammer.

The coming-of-age movie went on to garner four Oscar nominations, including best actor for Chalamet, while Aciman published a 2019 sequel, Find Me, which followed the two characters in the subsequent decades.

"I was going to America to meet a writer I love very much, whose name I don't want to mention, to talk about the sequel," Guadagnino told La Republica.

"Of course, it's a great pleasure to work with Timothee Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg, Esther Garrel and the other actors. Everyone will be in the new movie."

The first movie earned an estimated $42 million (£33.9m) on a $3.5 million (£2.8m) budget.
