Linda Lusardi admits wanting to die during coronavirus battle

TV presenter Linda Lusardi reveals that her battle with coronavirus was so excruciating that she wanted to die.

TV presenter Linda Lusardi has revealed that her battle against coronavirus was so bad that at times she wanted to die.

The 61-year-old is now back at home after spending 10 days in hospital with the killer disease, which has claimed 2,921 lives in the UK so far.

Both Lusardi and her actor husband Sam Kane came down with COVID-19 and were taken to hospital in the same ambulance after their concerned children raised the alarm.

"I started to get a fever, feeling rough and carried on, but it got worse and worse," Lusardi recalled to The Sun. "Your head hurts, your brain hurts and you feel like an elephant is sitting on you.

"I remember crawling to the bathroom putting my face on the tile floor, and then almost trying to make myself sick just to get a light relief for five minutes afterwards.

"I was leaning over the edge of the bed coughing and spitting into a bucket. Your vomit is blue.

"It got to the stage where both of us were praying we wouldn't wake up because it was so bad."

The UK remains on lockdown in an effort to slow down the disease's spread, although the number of people testing positive and the number of deaths is expected to escalate further in the coming weeks.
