Liam Payne gets engaged to girlfriend after two years

Liam Payne proposes to girlfriend Maya Henry, giving her a diamond engagement ring worth a reported £3 million.

One Direction star Liam Payne is engaged to his girlfriend of two years Maya Henry.

The singer, who turns 27 tomorrow, is thought to have first met Henry, 20, five years ago at a One Direction fan event and began seeing her romantically after she turned 18.

The news of their engagement was confirmed when Henry - a Texas-born model - showed off her ring as the pair stepped out for dinner at Asian-Italian restaurant Novikov in Mayfair on Thursday night.

According to the Daily Mail, the diamond ring set back Payne £3 million - a sizeable chunk of his estimated £54 million personal wealth.

The newspaper says that Payne popped the question during coronavirus lockdown and they have tried to keep the news quiet until now.

Depending on when the wedding takes place, Payne is in line to become the first member of the boyband to get married.
