Amir Khan lands own BBC Three ob doc series

Amir Khan and his wife are to appear in a new observational documentary series for BBC Three.

Boxer Amir Khan is to star with his fashion influencer wife Faryal Makhdoom in a new observational documentary series for BBC Three.

Meet The Khans: Big In Bolton promises to give viewers "an exclusive insight into the real couple behind the splashy tabloid headlines, glitzy boxing matches and glamorous posed photo shoots".

The eight-part series will feature the couple's three young children, their extended family, Khan's "trusted gang of old mates" and the people he works with at a youth boxing hub in his native Bolton.

As previously reported, the channel has also commissioned a one-off documentary following reality star Joey Essex as he confronts the issues caused by his mother's suicide.

A third new commission for the channel, Dance Crush, will see single professional dancers perform routines together before going on dates to assess their chemistry away from the dancefloor.
