Evan Peters joins MCU with role in WandaVision

American Horror Story and X-Men actor Evan Peters reportedly films a "mystery role" for the upcoming Scarlet Witch spinoff series WandaVision.

Evan Peters has reportedly joined the cast of the new Marvel TV series WandaVision in a "mystery role".

The 33-year-old American Horror Story actor has previously played the part of Wanda's brother Quicksilver in three X-Men movies, most recently in last year's X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and recently ruled out reprising the role in the near future.

In the Marvel universe, the character was portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson but was killed off in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

WandaVision is a new six-episode series for Disney+ centred around Scarlet Witch (aka Wanda Maximoff), with Elizabeth Olsen returning to play the lead part and Paul Bettany also back on board as Vision.

According to the Murphy's Multiverse blog, Peters filmed his "key role" at the end of last year, although production has since been halted due to the coronavirus pandemic and the show's scheduled release date of December 2020 may be pushed into 2021.

WandaVision is said to be set after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will tie into the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie.
