Chris Evans has appeared to confirm that he accidentally posted a picture of his own penis to social media over the weekend.

The 39-year-old shared a video to Instagram Stories that showed him playing Heads Up with his family, which ended with a screenshot of his camera roll.

Among the pictures visible was a photograph of a large penis, as well as a selfie of Evans alongside the caption "GUARD THAT PUSSY".

Evans deleted the clip shortly after it was posted but it has inevitably gone viral regardless, and now the Captain America actor has referenced the incident on Twitter.

"Now that I have your attention," he began, adding a facepalm emoji and a shrugging emoji. "VOTE Nov 3rd!!!"

Evans is currently thought to be single.
