The Chase star Mark Labbett insists he will appear on I'm A Celebrity

The Chase star Mark Labbett - aka The Beast - says it is a question of when, not if, he appears on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

The Chase quizzer Mark Labbett has insisted that he will appear on ITV's I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

The 54-year-old - aka 'The Beast' - has long outlined his desire to go on the show but has allegedly not been able to take part due to insurance concerns around his size.

At 6ft 7in, Labbett at one point weighed 27 stone but has shed the pounds over the last year by cutting down on sugar and running around after his young son.

"I'm going to do it, it's just a question of when," The Beast told The Mirror. "I am not joking you guys, cannibalism may be on the cards.

"I would be that hungry and some minuscule pipsqueak mucks up the food challenge and says, 'Oh it doesn't matter, we'll go without for a day', and I will be looking at them going, 'Oh, there's a couple of steaks on that'.

"My father was a butcher, so I know how to prepare a joint."

This year's series of I'm A Celebrity - due to take place in Australia in November - remains up in the air due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
