Piers Morgan fires warning to politicians in new GMB advert

Piers Morgan vows not to let politicians "off the hook" in a new advert for Good Morning Britain.

ITV has released a new advert for Good Morning Britain featuring an unapologetic Piers Morgan alongside Susanna Reid.

The presenter has been a vocal critic of the UK government for its handling of the coronavirus outbreak, and his explosive interviews with senior ministers earlier on in the crisis have led to all members of the government boycotting the show.

Instead of interviewing politicians directly, Morgan has taken to watching them live on rival channels including BBC and Sky News, providing his own commentary and critique to GMB viewers.

Morgan and Reid have taken a break from the show this week but will make their return on Monday, and a new advert promises that there will be no let-up in their confrontational style.

"Do you think we should let those in power off the hook?" asks Morgan, with Reid adding: "Stop holding their decisions to account?"

"And give up asking questions to find out the truth?" Morgan continues. "No, we didn't think so."

GMB airs Monday morning from 6am on ITV.
