Robert Pattinson 'catches coronavirus while filming The Batman'

Filming on The Batman is reportedly halted again after Robert Pattinson tests positive for coronavirus.

Filming of The Batman has reportedly been shut down again after lead star Robert Pattinson tested positive for coronavirus.

The reboot of the superhero franchise is being masterminded by Matt Reeves and is the first project in a new Batman universe that is expected to include spinoff films and TV series.

Filming on the movie restarted in Hertfordshire three days ago, having been suspended for six months due to the coronavirus, but reportedly stopped again today after "a member of the crew" tested positive for the killer disease.

According to Vanity Fair, however, the person in question is Pattinson, who must now go into isolation in order to comply with government guidelines.

A spokesperson for Warner Bros refused to confirm that the 34-year-old has coronavirus, instead saying: "A member of The Batman production has tested positive for COVID-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused."

The Batman is currently scheduled for release on October 1, 2021.
