Coronation Street 'to recast Todd Grimshaw character'

Coronation Street producers reportedly decide to cast a new actor in the role of Todd Grimshaw following Bruno Langley's axe from the soap in 2017.

Coronation Street producers have reportedly taken the decision to recast the role of Todd Grimshaw.

The character - son of Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) - was abruptly written out of the show in 2017 after actor Bruno Langley pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a woman in a nightclub.

Langley had played Todd on and off for almost 17 years, but according to the Daily Star, Corrie has taken the decision to bring the character back with a new actor in the role.

Todd was last said to have "gone on the run" after assaulting a police officer, in the process marking the end of his relationship with vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).

Brocklebank has recently teased a storyline that will see Billy come face to face with a "blast from the past".
