Watch as the Big Brother Canada housemates are updated on the latest news relating to the spread of coronavirus.

The Big Brother Canada house has been updated with news about the spread of the deadly coronavirus around the world.

When the contestants entered lockdown before appearing on the show, the deadly disease was in its early stages but it has since become a global pandemic, with more than 240,000 confirmed cases and over 10,000 deaths to date.

As a general rule, housemates of all Big Brother series are cut off from all communications from the outside world, but due to the severity of the situation, current productions have broken with the norm.

In scenes set to appear in tonight's episode, the Canadian series' executive producer Erin Brock spoke directly to the housemates - watch below:
