James Wade, Gary Anderson progress at Grand Slam of Darts

James Wade and Gary Anderson book their places in the last 16 of the Grand Slam of Darts with victories on Tuesday evening.

James Wade has recorded a 5-1 victory over Tony O'Shea to secure his place in the second round of the Grand Slam of Darts.

The left-hander averaged just under 100 to progress through to a last-16 tie with Stephen Bunting, who ended his group fixtures with a comfortable win over Dean Winstanley.

Gary Anderson needed just over eight minutes to whitewash Wesley Harms to set up a contest with Mervyn King, who topped Group G with a last-leg triumph over Jamie Caven.

Phil Taylor confirmed first place in Group E with a hard-fought 5-3 win against Andy Hamilton, and the 16-time world champion will now face Peter Wright on Thursday night after last year's World Championship runner-up beat Simon Whitlock.

The other second-round match to be played in the bottom half of the draw will be between Michael Smith and Christian Kist.

Smith averaged 102.71 in thrashing Brendan Dolan while Kist overcame Richie George by the same scoreline to make the knockout stages of the competition for the second time.
