Michael van Gerwen: 'I have plenty left in the tank'

World number one Michael van Gerwen insists that he still has "more in the tank" after whitewashing Jan Dekker at the Grand Slam of Darts.

Michael van Gerwen has insisted that his failure to hit top form during the early stages of the Grand Slam of Darts makes him "very dangerous" for the remainder of the tournament.

The world number one had defeated Darren Webster and Kim Huybrechts over the weekend before whitewashing Jan Dekker on Monday night, but the Dutchman believes that he has yet to find top gear ahead of the knockout stages.

The 25-year-old told PDC.tv: "I'm really happy to be through to the second round, and I couldn't do any more than win this game. I did a good job but I wasn't at 100% and still won, so that makes me very dangerous.

"I've got more in the tank and I'll get myself ready for the second round on Wednesday."

Van Gerwen will face Terry Jenkins in the last 16 as he attempts to win the event for the first time.
