Darts broadcaster Sid Waddell has been diagnosed with bowel cancer, his manager has confirmed.
The 71-year-old has been part of Sky Sports' coverage of PDC darts since 1994 and has gained a reputation as a colourful character.
"Following recent tests, Sid has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. He is now undergoing treatment and during this period will be focusing on his health," manager Dick Allix said in a statement.
"I would ask that everyone respects his privacy at this time."
Outside of his commentary work, he has had 11 books published.
