Australian number one Kyle Anderson has admitted that he almost cried after hitting a nine-dart finish at the PDC World Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The 26-year-old from Perth produced the perfect leg during a 3-1 first-round defeat to 21st seed Ian White at the Alexandra Palace in London.
"It was surreal," he told Sky Sports News. "When it went in, there were nearly tears. I pointed at my brother and it was pretty special.
"Ian played well throughout the whole game so fair play to him."
Anderson's reward for hitting a nine-darter in the tournament is a share of £30,000.
Assuming that there are no more perfect legs between now and the final on New Year's Day, he will split the prize with Terry Jenkins, who equalled the feat during a 3-2 loss to Per Laursen.
