Armstrong: 'Tour de France impossible without doping'
Lance Armstrong says that it was "impossible" to win the Tour de France during his era without the help of performance-enhancing drugs.

Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong has claimed that winning the Tour de France in his era was "impossible" without the use of illegal drugs.

The Texan was stripped of his record seven yellow jerseys after he admitted to taking performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career.

When asked by Le Monde whether other riders won races without drugs during his time in the sport, Armstrong replied: "It depends on the races. The Tour de France? No. Impossible to win without doping."

Armstrong was also issued with a lifetime ban from competitive cycling.
