It is the third Games in a row that Team GB have won the event, while Kenny picks up his fourth Olympic gold and remains on course to equal Sir Chris Hoy as Britain's most successful Olympian of all time.
Hindes got the defending champions off to a quick start, before subsequent laps from Kenny and Skinner helped the team to an Olympic record time of 42.440 seconds.
France picked up the bronze medal moments before Team GB's success, pipping Australia to the line in another closely-fought encounter.
