Team GB's Lizzie Armitstead has revealed that she is keen to see the course that she will face in the road race at the 2016 Olympic Games before she arrives in Rio de Janeiro.
The silver medallist from London is among the favourites to claim gold in Brazil, with the hilly course said to benefit the 26-year-old.
Even so, Armitstead is eager to get a taste of what she will experience before she competes for the main prize.
"I think about [winning Olympic gold] all the time. It's ultimately the biggest goal of my career. I would like to try and see the course before I go to the Olympics in order to see how much of a climber I need to be before I go," she told Cycling News.
Armitstead won gold at this summer's Commonwealth Games, but she could only finish seventh at the World Championships in Ponferrada back in September.
