Great Britain's Sir Chris Hoy has won his sixth Olympic gold medal in the men's Keirin at the velodrome.

The Scot was patient at the back of the pack before taking the lead with two laps to go.

There was a late challenge from Germany's Max Levy, but the 36-year-old held firm to cross the finish line first.

Levy took the silver while Teun Mulder of the Netherlands and New Zealand's Simon van Velthooven both shared bronze.

Hoy now has more Olympic gold medals than any other British athlete in history.
