Dutch starlet Tom Slatger has clinched the Tour Down Under on a historic day for Andrei Grepel in Adelaide.
The German veteran sprinted clear on the final day to cross the finish line first and make stage six his 14th win in Australia, a Tour Down Under record.
Slatger claimed the overall title by a comfortable margin as the 23-year-old maintained his 13-second advantage over Javier Moreno, who had to settle for a podium finish.
Team Sky's Geraint Thomas did enough to jump from fifth to third in the final standings as the Welshman's colleagues controlled the front peloton from the outset in a fast-paced final stage.
