David Millar to lead Great Britain's road race team at the World Championships

Thirty-seven-year-old David Millar will lead Great Britain's team for the men's road race at the World Championships in Spain next week.

Great Britain's nine-man team for the men's road race at the World Championships in Spain next week will be captained by David Millar.

Millar, 37, has been given the role for what will be his final race for Great Britain before retiring at the end of the season.

The team is made up of Chris Froome, Geraint Thomas, Peter Kennaugh, Ben Swift, Luke Rowe, Steve Cummings and twins Adam and Simon Yates.

Sir Bradley Wiggins and Commonwealth champion Alex Dowsett will represent Great Britain in the men's time trial.

The 2014 UCI Road World Championships take place from September 21 to September 28 in Ponferrada.
