Sir Bradley Wiggins has confirmed that his appearance at this summer's Commonwealth Games will be his last in the competition.
The Olympic gold medallist and 2012 Tour de France winner was part of Team England's 4000m team pursuit quartet at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome this evening as they picked up silver in Glasgow.
Having also won a silver in the same event back in 1998, the 34-year-old admitted that he would not be appearing on the Gold Coast in 2018.
When asked whether this would be his final showing at the Commonwealths, Wiggins told Sports Mole: "Yeah, definitely. I rode 16 years ago, so I won't be riding for 20 years."
Wiggins has now won four silver medals at the Commonwealth Games without ever picking up the gold.
