South Africa earn a convincing nine-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in their one-off Test in Harare.

South Africa have thrashed Zimbabwe by nine wickets and with a day to spare in their one-off Test in Harare.

The hosts began the evening session with a second-innings score of 141-7, putting them level with the Proteas' 397 first-innings total.

However, Zimbabwe were eventually bowled out for 181 to give the South Africans an easy target of 41 to win the match.

The home side's final three wickets fell when Richmond Mutumbami (43), John Nyumbu (13) and Tinashe Panyangara (2) were dismissed by the collective efforts of Dane Piedt and Dale Steyn.

Dean Elgar (21), Alviro Petersen (17 not out) and Faf du Plessis (5 not out) then hit the necessary runs to secure their side a comfortable victory.
