Morne Morkel leaves South Africa in control

Morne Morkel takes two wickets as West Indies slipped to 59-2 at tea on the third day of the second Test against South Africa, in reply to 417-8 declared.

The West Indies head into tea on day three of the second Test against South Africa trailing by 358 runs after reaching 59-2 at the interval.

After South Africa declared on 417-8 following a rain-affected second day, Devon Smith and Kraigg Brathwaite made a strong start to the innings, but their opening partnership came to an end when Morne Morkel sent Smith back to the pavilion for 22.

The bowler immediately struck again as Leon Johnson edged his next delivery to Faf du Plessis for a duck.

Marlon Samuels came to the crease, but could not get off the mark before the end of the afternoon session, while Brathwaite moved on to 37.
