New Zealand have limited West Indies to 240-5 at lunch on day three of the deciding third Test between the teams in Bridgetown.
Starting the day on 169-2, the Windies had to wait for some early rain to clear before they took to the crease to eventually get within 53 runs of the tourists.
Dwayne Bravo was the first to go when he was dismissed by Neil Wagner for 24, while Kirk Edwards (58) was soon heading back to the pavilion thanks to the bowling of Tim Southee.
A tricky session for the hosts then got worse in the final over as Shivnarine Chanderpaul fell victim to Wagner having made 15.
Denesh Ramdin (20 not out) and Jason Holder will resume out in the middle when play gets back underway.
